Proud Boys recruitment causes uproar in Lake Stevens Washington

Lake Stevens Proud Boys Exposed

Lake Stevens Washington has been the site of intense debate after a photo was leaked showing 23 members of the Proud Boys at Razzal’s sports bar, subsequent graffiti of the bar and claims by members of the group that the bar owners sanctioned their meetings and recruitment activities.

This photo was leaked to a local antifascist group and published to Twitter. It shows men in the black and gold Fred Perry polo shirt and maga hats standard for Proud Boys who have attained the third degree, or rank, in the organization.

After the photo became public a member of the Proud Boys by the name Daniel Scott Lyons claimed on twitter that the bar was owned by a member of the Proud Boys, allowed recruitment at the location and that management and Proud Boys were in romantic relationships.

Shared with permission of Emerald City Antifascists.

Dan took photos from inside the Everett location of Razzals bar and posted them to Twitter again claiming that the bar was a Proud Boy safe zone and that they’ve had considerable success recruiting at the location. He repeats his claims that the bar is actually owned by a Proud Boy and the bar is in full support of the group.

Here Lyons uses the ethno-nationalist slogan “We will not be replaced” chanted by Nazis the world over along with the PePe the frog meme popularized by fascist chan boards to taunt social media. Once again Lyons is inside Razzals against the same backdrop that the group photo that started the uproar regarding the group in the first place was taken.

After the claims by Lyons that the bar was a safe haven for The Proud Boys to recruit a still unidentified person sprayed anti-Proud Boy graffiti on the exterior wall of the bar. The pictures circulated quickly and by the next day the Everett Herald ran an article in which Lyons gave a statement backing his claims of a connection to the bar.

Lake Stevens bar vandalized as rumors of a hate group swirl

The town of Lake Stevens was so dismayed by the news of a hate group they arranged a peace vigil. At the vigil speakers strongly denouncing hate in general and the Proud Boys in particular. The outgoing mayor and State Rep. John Lovick made statements and the event was covered by KIRO-7 and KING5 News.

Even after the peace vigil and intense news coverage Lyons persists that the group and the bar were standing by each other. It is currently unknown if the group is continuing to meet at either the Everett or Lake Stevens Razzals location
